Webflow membership platform for 500+ verified D2C tools

Our team worked on scalable no-code platform development using Webflow, Airtable, Memberstack, and Make automation to deliver premium gated content and marketplace management.

About project

helping brands find the right partners faster

As more solutions enter the market, D2C companies struggle to evaluate vendors, compare features, and pick the right partners. Researching options often means spending weeks manually searching different sites and review platforms.

Our client wanted to make this process easier by creating a central marketplace. Here, brands could quickly find, compare, and connect with verified partners.

We set out to build a marketplace platform that could grow over time, support premium memberships, help users compare SaaS tools, and scale content operations. We wanted to do all this without the high cost and complexity of traditional software development.

By picking the right no-code tools, our team turned the idea into a working no-code SaaS platform in just six weeks.

Challenge

so many tools, but not enough clarity

The centralized no-code marketplace platform needed to aggregate information and also to maintain accuracy and trust.

As the marketplace expanded with more tools, categories, reviews, and content types, it became more complex. The system still needed to be easy to manage without always needing help from developers.

The team wanted a premium content strategy (to increase engagement and conversions), but onboarding still had to be simple. So, the membership platform needed easy sign-in, clear content permissions, and simple subscription steps for the users.

The platform also needed to serve as a gated content platform, offering different access levels (but still letting first-time visitors browse easily). Traditional CMS solutions had limits with scalability, content control, performance, and keeping user accounts, permissions, and marketplace data in sync in real time.

Speed was important too. The client wanted a premium Webflow membership site that could go live fast.

Research & Insights

smart structure over complex code

Our research showed that before making a purchase, users compare vendors, read reviews, check case studies, and ask peers for advice. To help them, we allowed users to explore tools and categories for free before registering for premium content.

We also found that exclusive insights, detailed reviews, comparison tools, and curated recommendations led to higher retention and more signups than generic content.

On the technical side, using Webflow CMS, Airtable, Memberstack, and Make gave us a flexible setup. This combination handled complex business logic without custom code. ⚙️

When we reviewed automation workflows, we saw an opportunity to automate admin tasks, such as content approvals, subscriptions, permissions, notifications, and moderation.

Our final strategy was to create a scalable content-gating platform that brings together automation, memberships, and marketplace features in one system.

Implementation

a no-code platform built for scale, speed & simplicity

We turned the idea into a polished, ready-to-launch platform in weeks by using a modular design. ✨

webflow architecture foundation

We built the front end in Webflow with a structured CMS that makes it easy to navigate the marketplace, search, and scale content.

The setup with reusable CMS parts, dynamic categories, responsive layouts, and fast-loading pages made it easy to publish content and allowed the platform to grow without big structural changes.

airtable relational database structure

We used Airtable as the main database to manage over 500 verified tools. Using advanced relational database logic, Airtable connected tool profiles, categories, vendor records, membership content, review assets, and internal moderation workflows.

These connections gave us a single source of truth, making admin tasks easier.

memberstack authentication & user management

Membership functionality was powered by Memberstack, which lets users explore the marketplace, but keeps premium resources secure and accessible only to members.

make automation

Core automations handled subscription setup, user access management, media processing, notifications, and data updates. These no-code automation workflows removed manual admin work and kept data consistent.

API synchronization & platform orchestration

Automation workflows manage API data exchanges between the CMS, membership system, and backend database to keep everything in sync.

scalable content moderation workflows

To help the platform grow, we set up moderation workflows so admins could review submissions, approve content, manage categories, and keep quality high.

responsive platform architecture

The final platform used a scalable no-code architecture, ready for future growth, new integrations, better search, and changing membership needs. It behaves like a custom SaaS product, but keeps the flexibility and speed advantages of no-code platform development.

no-code saas platform: from idea to launch in six weeks

What could have taken a few months with traditional development was launched in just six weeks. The platform launched with responsive design, premium memberships, automation, a scalable CMS, and full marketplace features — all working from day one.

strong membership adoption

Users were able to browse the marketplace for free before reaching premium resources. Once they saw the value of the platform, many decided to sign up for premium memberships, which led to strong engagement.

working smarter with automation

We fully automated processes that would normally require manual administration: subscription management, permissions handling, notifications, and content moderation. This automation allowed the client to cut operational costs and made the platform more reliable and consistent.

scalability without headaches

As new tools, categories, reviews, and content were added, the team managed growth by updating the CMS instead of going through long development cycles.

Automations built with Make made it possible to scale user roles, media uploads, and content submissions without any manual work. This let the platform grow without increasing operational overhead.
