Coinweb wanted an AI assistant capable of scanning live site content, understanding user requests, and delivering tailored recommendations instantly. But off-the-shelf AI models weren’t designed for real-time interaction with dynamic website content - especially not at the speed Web3 users expect.

GPT-4o, while powerful, couldn’t read on-site data or generate accurate internal suggestions without a custom architecture.

The challenge was clear: create an AI-driven search and recommendation engine that feels like a personal guide through Web3 - fast, responsive, and truly helpful ⚡️

We mapped out how users typically explore Web3 platforms: searching, comparing, and discovering tools across wallets, staking platforms, aggregators, and more.
Our research showed that traditional search systems couldn’t keep up with the diversity of Web3 content. What Coinweb needed was an intelligent layer capable of:

reading structured versions of their content
responding instantly through streaming
delivering context-aware recommendations
and operating 24/7 without manual supervision

This led us to a hybrid architecture blending OpenAI’s GPT-4o, PHP automation, real-time JavaScript streaming, and a custom JSON content model ⚙️

Implementation

from generic chatbot to web3-native assistant

Our team set out to solve these challenges through research and development. We tried different approaches and technologies before choosing a mix of OpenAI's GPT-4o API, the openai-php library, and JavaScript.

We turned the site's content into JSON files so the AI could read and process information more easily. We also added streaming, which made responses much faster and improved user experience.

Using the OpenAI platform, we built an AI Assistant with clear instructions and an algorithm for personalized content. Our goal was to create an experience that felt smooth and easy for Coinweb’s users. ✨
